This course gives the non-reservoir engineer a better understanding of reservoir engineering practices and limitations. The course is designed to provide a good understanding of reservoir engineering processes, the required data, and the limitations on the engineers’ analysis and interpretations. OVERVIEW

Untuk menjamin jalannya proyek konstruksi mampu diselesaikan dengan biaya yang minimal dan dalam waktu yang sesuai dengan yang dijanjikan, maka dibutuhkan manajemen konstruksi yang tepat. Manajemen konstruksi berperan untuk menjamin jalannya pengkordinasian dan komunikasi diantara semua bagian dalam suatu proyek konstruksi, yang pada umumnya terdiri dari persoalan biaya, waktu, mutu, SDM, pengadaan, lingkungan, K3, resiko, klaim dan berbagai hal lain yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan proyek konstruksi. Ketidaktepatan dalam pengaturan tata kelola ini dapat menyebabkan proyek menjadi terhambat yang mana secara sistematik dapat menyebabkan perusahaan terkena pinalti dan tentunya yang lebih parah adalah masuk dalam daftar hitam perusahaan yang membuat mereka tidak bisa dalam tender lagi. Karena manajemen konstruksi tersusun dari tahap perencanaan, koordinasi dan evaluasi maka seorang manager dituntut untuk mengetahui secara umum bagaimana perkembangan yang terjadi di lapangan dalam kerangka global yang oleh sebab itulah ia dituntut untuk mampu mengembangkan daya pikir lebih integratif dan solutif.

DESKRIPSI TRAINING HUKUM KONTRAK MINYAK DAN GAS

Kontrak merupakan dasar yang berkekuatan hukum yang mengatur hak dan kewajiban pihak-pihak yang terlibat dalam dalam aktivitas bisnis yang merupakan suatu kebutuhan bagi para pelaku usaha saat ini. Salah satu masalah krusial yang sering timbul adalah sah atau tidaknya suatu kontrak, klausul-klausul yang dimuat dalam kontrak, dan aspek legal suatu kontrak.

Demikian halnya dalam industry oil & gas, aspek hukum yang melingkupinya cukup kompleks dari sector hulu hingga hilir. Sehingga diperlukan pemahaman yang baik mengenai aspek hukum dalam industri minyak dan gas nasional mengingat kedudukan Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara produsen dan importir migas.

Deskripsi  Training EOR – Enchanced Oil Recovery :   

Akibat penurunan produksi minyak dan gas bumi dalam sumur produksi maka salah satu usaha yang perlu dilakukan ialah dengan EOR untuk menjaga tingkat produksi sumur minyak dan gas agar tetap stabil. Perolehan Minyak Tahap Lanjut (EOR) adalah berbagai cara yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan laju produksi dari suatu sumur, tanpa merusak formasi dari reservoir yang ada sehingga faktor perolehan dari sumur meningkat.Perolehan Minyak Tahap Lanjut (EOR) merupakan perolehan minyak dengan cara menginjeksikan suatu zat yang berasal dari salah satu atau beberapa metode pengurasan yang menggunakan energi luar reservoir. Dengan melakukan EOR ini diharapkan minyak yang berada di reservoir dapat terangkat hingga mencapai saturasi minyak sisa (Sor) minimum.

Training Geostatistical Characterization of Oil Sands Reservoirs

Course Description

This 3-day classroom course that includes theory and case studies, is primarily intended for geoscientists, engineers and computer scientists with an interest in learning how to build geostatistical models for heavy oil applications. Current best practice of geomodeling and geostatistical characterization of oil sands reservoirs for resource and reserves assessment of oil sands will be reviewed. Multiple scale models will be described including lease-wide mapping for resources, micro and mini modeling for permeability determination, and conventional 3-D reservoir modeling. The workflows will be described with implementation details specific for oil sands. Model post processing, ranking, regridding and forecasting will be reviewed. Participants should have some geomodeling and geostatistical background, the basics will only be reviewed briefly. The course will focus on the special needs of models for oil sands reservoir management.

Participants will learn to assess vertical and horizontal permeability through high resolution models; undertake a 3-D geostatistical modeling workflow of facies, porosity and permeability for heavy oil reservoir characterization; post process geostatistical models for reservoir management decision support; and describe the limitations of the resulting numerical models.

This course is a theoretical-practical course designed to address the basic three stages in a gas field’s life: Reserves Determination, Development and Operation of the gas field. Before planning development of an optimum producing gas field, it is necessary to determine the total reserves of the gas field as accurate as possible. After this first step, It is necessary to determine the number of wells to develop the field based on the Gas Reserves, Reservoir Pressure, Reservoir fluids and Rock Properties, Gas Reservoir Dominant Mechanisms and Gas Demand.

Course Description

Water alternating gas (WAG) injection are improved oil recovery methods that involve three-phase fluid flow. It was originally proposed as a method to improve the sweep efficiency of gas by using water to control the mobility ratio and to stabilize the front (Caudle and Dyes, 1958; Christensen et al., 1998). WAG injection can lead to improved oil recovery by combining better mobility control and contacting upswept zones, and by leading  to  improved microscopic displacement. WAG flooding has been successfully applied to more than 60 oilfields worldwide. This course will present WAG Miscible, WAG Immiscible, WAG alternating different types of Hydrocarbon Gases and Non-HC such as N2 and CO2 Gases. Course Description

Approximately 20 billion barrels of water are reinjected in the US every year. Any technology that minimizes the amount of water or gas produced in conjunction with the produced oil would have a significant impact on the energy consumption and on the cost oil production. There are many factors, such as the presence of thief zones or high permeability zones, fractures and water coning which lead to an increase in water production. In an attempt to block out the undesired water production and increase the volumetric sweep efficiency of on-going waterfloods, the industry has used crosslinked polymer gels. The process involves strategically injecting a gelling fluid into water coning well or into a high permeability watered out zone, restricting flow in that zone and redirecting water flow into the lower permeability unswept oil zones. Thus water shut off and conformance-control treatments can be used to generate relatively large volumes of incremental oil production with low costs and selectively, targeted small volume treatments, which extends the economic lives of marginal and mature wells.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is aimed at creating an understanding of WATER FORMATION RE-INJECTION AND WATER TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL. The course is designed to build up knowledge in the participant to understand the WATER RE-INJECTION process facilities design and Water treatment and disposal. The course studies in depth and in according to classic and new technology. COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course concentrates on Reservoir and field operations aspects of waterfloooding injection for pressure maintenance and Secondary Recovery. Study in depth of Fractional Displacement theory and all methods available in the oil and gas industry to predict oil recovery. The course is a theoretical-practical course and is designed to as a workshop where the participant has to work hard solving a series of projects to apply immediately the concepts, mathematical principle as and theories presented and learned during the course. The participants will use a reservoir engineering software designed for water injection. The software will be provided to each participant without additional cost.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course discusses the latest results in characterization of paraffin, asphaltene and scales in crude oils. Differential paraffin deposition theory and analysis of the mechanisms of paraffin, asphaltene and scales deposition are included. Field strategies for the production of crude oils with differential paraffin deposition are presented. Special attention is given to the description, construction and interpretation of P-T-ADE envelopes to establish production strategies to produce asphaltenic crude oil and avoid or minimize formation damage thought asphaltene control deposition. A review of the conventional methods to control paraffin, asphaltene and scale is included. Design and quality control of Microbial Methods, and Downhole and surface magnetic and electromagnetic tools are discussed in depth. Additive/Activate Technology to control paraffin is study in detail as well as coating technology and field applications cases. A comparative study of Methods/Technologies: Advantages and disadvantages is discussed in details. Laboratory studies and Field cases are part of the course. The end of the course is given an introduction to the P-T-Compositional 3-D- Diagram-Crystallization/Flocculation curves and their determination of the phase envelopes by the advanced laboratory technique Near-Infrared Spectroscopy and Ultraviolet rays.

 COURSE DESCRIPTION

The case for Waterflooding:

Waterflooding is one of the most important methods of improving recovery from oil reservoirs. This section of the course concentrates on reservoir and field operations aspects of water injection for pressure maintenance and secondary recovery. Participants will study fractional displacement theory and all methods available in the oil & gas industry to predict oil recovery. The course is a theoretical practical course where participants have to work towards solving a series of projects, and to immediately apply the concepts, mathematical principles and theories presented and learned during the course. Laptop/computers will be used to solve problems related to waterflooding.

The Case for Chemical Flooding:

Valuable insight has been gained through chemical floods in the past – failures as well as successes.MP and ASP methods hold the greatest potential for commercial success; polymer flooding a third option. Chemical flooding processes must be re-evaluated under the current technical and economic conditions. Chemical floods offer the only chance of commercial success in many depleted and waterflooded reservoirs. Chemical flooding is here to stay because it holds the key to maximizing the reserves in our known reservoirs

Who Should Attend 

This short course is intended for all engineers engaged in the oil and gas industry, in particular for those engineers involved with gas condensate reservoirs.

Course Objectives

This course enables participants to develop skills to analyse and manage gas condensate reservoirs. It addresses phase behaviour; relative permeability varying with velocity and interfacial tension; material balance equations; well productivity and pseudo-pressure calculation for different completion strategies, condensate banking and gravity drainage; practical fluid and flow simulation models.

Content

1. Phase behaviour:

Equations of state; fluid sampling and laboratory PVT tests (CCE, CVD tests, two-phase z-factor, K equilibrium constant and molar balance consistency checks); Equation of state modelling (Ideal and Real gas law (two and three-parameters corresponding state), two and three parameters van der Waals Cubic EOS (Pen-Robinson, Schmidt-Wenzel, Patel-Teja and Soave-Redlich-Kwong) for pure and mixtures, prediction of phase behaviours and reservoir fluid properties; Tuning of EOS using experimental data and field application of fluid data in commercial simulators; a comparison of black oil and compositional models

2. Condensate issues:

Condensate formation and growth; critical condensate saturation, gravity drainage, residual trapped gas and condensate; condensate banking; and well remedial

3. Reservoir Flow:

Relative permeability measurement methods; single and two phase inertial factor estimation methods; waterflood; relative permeability variations with velocity & interfacial tension due to coupling (capillary number) and inertial effects; mechanistic models of coupling; relative permeability correlations and calculations for use in simulators and using the next generation (universal) method.

4. Estimating volumes and production mechanisms:

Material balance equations (gas in-place, calculations drive mechnism identification); high pressure and high temperature reservoirs, depletion for dry, wet and gas condensate systems; active acquifers and pressure maintenance (including gas injection).

5. Well issues:

Steady state and pseudo-steady state flow equations; well productivity calculations; perforation and fracture characteristics and effective parameters; perforation and fracture design; estimation of skin for perforated, fractured, deviated and horizontal wells.

Training Thermal Recovery Methods for Heavy Oil Fields

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to cover all the traditional and modern Thermal Recovery Methods used in the oil industry for Heavy Oil recovery. Perhaps no other single subject dominates the oil industry like thermal recovery. For many of oil fields, particularly where low-to-medium gravity oils are found or where the oil viscosity is unfavourable for conventional EOR methods application,  Thermal Recovery is usually applied to heavy to medium oils, however these methods can be applied to any field being considered and be competitive with alternative methods. The course consider the following methods: Cycle Steam Injection, Double Injection Nitrogen-Steam, CO2-Steam Injection, Flue Gas-Steam Injection-This methods have given excellent results in China and Louisiana (USA), Steam Drive Process, Hot Water Injection Processes, In Situ Combustion Processes, Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand (CHOPS),  Vapor Extraction Method (VAPEX) and Steam-Assisted Drainage (SAGD).

The aim of the course is to provide with necessary knowledge in well problem diagnosis and remedial, work-over operations, well stimulation, sand and water control that helps formulate engineering solution of petroleum field production operation related problems.

Training Reservoir Modeling

Course Objectives

The course provides an overview of the frequently used tools in the petroleum industry to quantify the reserves using different oil and gas reservoir modeling. It is recommended to conduct a material balance evaluation prior to a simulation study. The results should be integrated into a 3D model for a better simulation. The Monte Carlo simulation was used to compute oil and gas using petrophysical parameters, which always involve a magnitude of uncertainty and, as such should be treated as random variables with distinct probability distributions.

Training OLGA Flow Assurance

The Flow Assurance with OLGA course is intended to turn the beginner into an OLGA user, capable of running realistic flow assurance tasks.

A mixture of lectures and hands-on exercises helps you understand flow assurance challenges, the fundamentals of multiphase pipeline thermo-hydraulics, and how to apply OLGA in realistic flow assurance issues. The exercises are conducted using the OLGA Graphical User Interface (GUI). All major features of the GUI are covered including model building, case runs, parametric studies, and effective post-processing. Fluid property tables for OLGA are generated with a leading fluid modelling software.

Training Petrel Velocity Modeling

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to velocity modeling, velocity handling and domain conversion functionality in Petrel 2013.

It takes the user through the preparation stage of data used for velocity estimation and modeling. This includes quality control and edit of checkshot data used in sonic calibration and quality control of time surfaces and well tops used for defining velocity intervals.

Furthermore, the available velocity modeling approaches are discussed, including well velocity estimation, the nature and modeling of seismic velocities, surface based and 3D grid based seismic velocity modeling, as well as user defined velocity functions.
After the velocity modeling phase, domain conversion of various objects and how to model structural uncertainty is covered.

For Petrel 2011/2012 classes
